Who it fits
- People below A2 who want an intensive course to move faster
- Anyone completing the language requirement before a Studienkolleg or university application
- People working towards the B1 a training contract usually needs
What is usually required
- Enrolment at a language school on a course of at least 18 hours a week, which is what counts as intensive.
- Proof that the whole course has been paid for.
- Proof of funds for the length of the course — usually a blocked account.
- Health insurance and a valid passport.
The route, step by step
- Decide the level and length of course your goal actually needs.
- Enrol at a recognised school and pay the course fee.
- Open the blocked account, take out insurance and apply for the language course visa.
- Register your address in Germany and collect the residence permit.
- While the course runs, prepare the move to the next permit — study, training or work.
